ANGEL HARVEST receives an incredible variation of foods. Every phone call is another donation of great food. We wanted to share with you some visuals so that you can get a sense of the volumes of food we are receiving and distributing. While the actual food is given to men, women, and children; these illustrations are to savor your “taste in reading.”
Enough cans of Tomato Sauce to fill your swimming pool, not the Olympic size, but one you could do the crawl in through the chunks of tomato, bits of green pepper and bay leaves.
Enough Canned Goods that would be stacked one on top of each other could build the third Twin Tower in the heart of Century City. Can you imagine 44 floors of peas, corn, beets, spam, green beans, tuna fish and carrots!
Enough Hamburgers Deluxe from the commercial photography shoot to feed all the home teams of the Baseball‘s LA DODGERS, Basketball’s LA LAKERS, Ice Hockey’s LA KINGS, Soccer’s LA GALAXIES and Golf’s Tiger Woods.
Enough Lettuce for one rabbit to eat once a day for half of his lifetime. Since we all know that rabbits like to share, this would allow 1800 rabbits could enjoy this delicious treat. Our rabbit breeders tell us that lettuce is considered a dessert item, not an entree, which certainly makes our Rabbit Caterers happy.
Enough Ice Creamfrom another photo shoot to give two kindergarten classes of children very delighted and wound up for another game of tag.
Enough Fresh Potatoes to make 36 million French Fries, laid end to end would go from Los Angeles direct to Memphis, the Home of the King. It is just the catsup that gets messy!
Enough Caviar to fill four Oscars Statues, the Winner of the Best Caterer with the Divine Food. Can we have the nominations please?
Enough Bagels to “paper” one wall of your office with the visual variety of poppy seed, pumpernickel, spinach, cinnamon and raisin, and carrot. You never know when you just might need another decorating idea.
Enough Candy Bars to energize all of the Riverdance Dancers for 550 performances in two years.
Enough Fresh Produce to fill a one bedroom home, 600 square feet floor to ceiling with fresh produce. In June 2006 Richard Honnes, our professional driver, picked up broccoli, cauliflower, squash, corn, cucumbers, potatoes, onions, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, celery, bananas, watermelons, cantaloupes, honey dews, plums, peaches, nectarines, pears, apples, red and green grapes, cherries, strawberries, blue and black berries, avocados, tomatoes, rutabaga, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, casaba, shallots, and cilantro. This is the best quality of food, like what you or I would buy today at our favorite store for our family or dinner guests tonight. This is just a sampling of last month’s donations.
Enough Cakes… of all flavors and levels of decadence… that could fill your home office full, floor to ceiling were donated and delivered to the hungry all over Los Angeles before year end. Two Chefs on a Roll,
with Lori’s guidance truly outdid themselves with these awesome desserts for the hungry of LA. Almost 6,000 cakes of all shapes and sizes, with names like Chocolate Divine, Scrumptious Chocolate, Devils Food, Death by Chocolate, Fondant Chocolate, Chocolate mousse, Classic Chocolate Soufflé, Flourless Chocolate in either the French or Scandinavian version, naturally truffles and brownies, with a chocolate Tart. These cakes surprisingly complemented people’s medical challenges. Former drug abusers need sugar to balance with their medications. With this bounty there was enough to keep many people well caffeined and sugared for the entire new year. Thanks for your generous donation Lori.
