Membership Criteria
In order to become a member of ANGEL HARVEST your agency must:
  • Be a social service agency or religious institution located within Los Angeles County.
  • Must have an established continuous emergency feeding program has been in operation for at least three months with a year round plan.
  • Must feed their guests for free, while not requiring any donations or memberships to receive the food.
  • Have other sources of food or money for food, as ANGEL HARVEST’s food is supplemental and can not be your only source of food.
  • Agree to an initial site visit by ANGEL HARVEST staff to review your program's needs. At the site visit we will check storage and refrigeration, as well as kitchen and dining areas, if applicable. Your program may be visited periodically when there is a need to update our records.

Delivery Criteria:
No agency is guaranteed any food on any given day. ANGEL HARVEST will try, but there are no guarantees on what foods may be given to us. We will strive to deliver within your agreed upon delivery times. The larger time frame you offer for delivery will enable your program to receive more food.

Objective Food Delivery Information:
All of the deliveries are made based on the following criteria that your agency committed to at the inspection meeting.
  • Geographics in relation to the source of the donated food and your agency’s location.
  • Your agency’s agreed upon delivery days and times.
  • Your agency’s requested food types (perishable, baked, fresh, frozen, dairy, canned and packaged) as well as kosher or alcohol free. Food is also allocated based on special medical and/ or religious needs of people.
  • Your agency’s storage capacity to properly and safely store the different food types that require dry, cool or frozen storage.
  • Only onsite feeding programs such as soup kitchens and shelters can receive perishable, refrigerated or frozen foods.
  • The ANGEL HARVEST food is delivered inside the door of the agency by the ANGEL HARVEST driver. Due to strict time schedules, our driver can not transport the food any further; that is for your team to handle.
  • Your agency is required to notify ANGEL HARVEST of any changes in your operations, problems or concerns about food needs.
