ANGEL HARVEST is an innovative non-profit food distribution system that picks up good, un-served, perishable food from 3900 events, grocers and corporate cafeterias and everyday delivers 4,230 meals to 51 emergency feeding programs throughout Los Angeles County. Angel Harvests’ donations to soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters allow these programs to expand their offerings without financial impact. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year, Angel Harvest’s fleet of refrigerated trucks picks up everything from leftover Chateaubriand and prosciutto canapés from Hollywood’s swankiest events to baked lasagna and green beans from executive dinners of the Nissan Corporation, UCLA cafeterias and even the Special Olympics. Nutrition bars, fruits, vegetables, beverages: Angel Harvest delivers it all, free of charge, within the hour to help meet the needs of the hungry.  This unique social program is based on the simple principle of “neighbors feeding neighbors.”
